"Rising Above" Congratulations to our Special Opportunity Team! You girls did an amazing job this weekend, both at your Sidney performance and the Lincoln Center performance! I am so proud of you for all of your hard work and focus. It has truly been a pleasure to work on this piece with you and I am looking forward to our own contemporary company we will be starting next year! You all have inspired me so much and I am looking forward to choreographing many more meaningful pieces like this. You girls took me back to the way I began when I started teaching dance and I am grateful for the passion that you have all shown. Be proud of your accomplishments! Not only did you represent our area well in your outstanding performances, but also in your exceptional behavior. You conducted yourselves in such a respectful and mature manner. You are a great group of girls and have made your parents and I very proud. Our Special Opportunity Team did so well at Lincoln Center and impressed everyone so much that they were given the premiere invitation to perform in London, England during the 2012 Summer Olympics!  Lincoln Center was amazing and to be chosen to perform in London, England during the Olympics is spectacular.  You have certainly blown everybody's expectations and the sky is the limit!  The trip will be expensive, but we have three years to fundraise for it.  We will certainly try everything in our power to get you girls to London!  Look below to see the invitation from AAPAE!   See the new "Rising Above" Picture Page! *This is a scanned copy of the letter that Matt Straub sent Miss Amy after the girls performed "Rising Above" at Lincoln Center.
